Abstract

A key point of the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan is to increase undergraduate nursing, midwifery and allied health professional student capacity. A team at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust developed a virtual reality learning programme to aid in clinical placement expansion, student competency achievement and positive placement experience, with the intention of retaining students as registrants and to maintain excellent patient safety through quality placements and education.
